Debt Forgiveness is real y’all. No I am not talking about student loans today. Have you ever down something you regret and the only person that didn’t forgive you was yourself?

I know I have. I used to allow the devil to remind me of things I had done in my past even though I knew I was forgiven because of the blood of Jesus.

As a child of God, when you know who you are in Christ, you know your debt is cancelled and completely erased.

Today and every day from now on you can stand on and speak The Word of God over yourself, knowing what it speaks is the Truth for your life.

Romans 5:1 says “Therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through your Lord Jesus Christ.”

As a child of God you can say: I have been justified, completely forgiven, and made righteous.

This next verse is one that I love to remind myself when the enemy tries to bring up my past. He still tries even after coming to Christ 38 years ago.

Yes I have made mistakes since I started serving Jesus. But I have by the mercy and grace of God received forgiveness, and you can too.

2nd Corinthians 5:17 says: Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold ALL things have become new.

Repeat after me: I am a new creation in Christ.

I am not who I once was.

I am forgiven.

Have you allowed your past to keep you from doing something for God because you don’t feel you are worthy enough?

You’re right! You alone are not worthy. But when you become a child of God that changes.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says:

For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

There are people in your circle of influence that need to hear that Jesus loves them through you.

I want to share something with you. You know I am all about being real on this show.

Just a few days before this episode was recorded I had awful dreams about things I had not thought about in decades.

These were condemning dreams from my past choices. When I woke up I knew where they came from.

I had to remind myself that I am forgiven and I am a child of God.

I pray that you will walk as a forgiven child of God and allow the light of Jesus to shine everywhere you go so others will desire forgiveness in Christ.

If there is something from your past holding you back, I pray after today you will no longer listen to those lies and walk as the forgiven child of God you are.

Jesus is not afraid of your mess.

You might be saying “You don’t know what I have done.”

You’re right. I don’t.

But I want to remind you of two people in the Bible that sinned and failed in big ways. Judas and Peter both made choices that changed their life.

Unfortunately Judas could not handle what he had done and liked himself. But Peter was able to move past his sin and receive the forgiveness of Christ.

God was able to use Peter in a mighty way and He can use you too.
