Hallmark Town vs Heaven Bound

Who loves the idea of the perfect Hallmark town? I love the idea of the small town where everyone knows everyone and the meeting place is the diner with lots of coffee flowing.
Where are my coffee lovers?
Now let’s ramp it up with some Christmas Spirit.
Cue the beautiful twinkling lights hung perfectly on every shop.
There is magnificent garland and red bowed wreaths with a warm welcome at every door.
Next we see the horse drawn carriage that looks like Cinderella’s coach all lit up and filled with riders who are laughing and don’t seem to have a care in the world.
On the outside this town looks ”perfect”.
There are towns that look like this in America.
I have a friend, Elizabeth Ours, who recently moved to Dahlonega Georgia. You can find her on Instagram as @simplysouthernmomof10.

I love seeing her new adventure in the North Ga mountains. In case you didn’t know, I grew up in a small town in North Ga, called Snellville.
Yes Snellville, not Smellville. Elizabeth used to live at the beach near Jeckyll Island, Georgia. She has had the opportunity to experience two places people dream about visiting or living at most of the time.
But one thing I know is my friend and sister in Christ, Elizabeth, would agree with me on is there is no perfect town or perfect people living perfect lives this side of Heaven.
Because we live in a fallen world, we will never have perfect here.

It may seem like other people have perfect families, perfect homes, and live in the perfect location.

That’s FAKE NEWS. The real truth is everyone deals with things we may never see or know.
The GOOD NEWS is this fallen world is not our final home.
It’s a temporary home. As we celebrate the holidays, binge on Christmas movies, and scroll social media I pray we all remember everything that looks perfect is an illusion and lie we have believe.
Let’s focus on the coming of our King.
Here is some beautiful godly wisdom from another friend and sister in Chris, Mary Geisen.

“It’s time to begin your own journey, a chance to discover the gift of a newborn King named Jesus left for you.
It is the gift of expectant hope, unending joy, grace-filled forgiveness, and unfailing love.
”The Advent Narrative: The Life You Didn’t Know You Were Already Living” is Mary’s offering to help you begin to prepare your heart and soul this season and all year round.
This book will take you from beginning to end all while learning that the life you are living was chosen by God.
It is your time of “not yet“ because you know that you are waiting for the time that Jesus comes again in all His glory.
Maybe something will resonate with you.
Maybe you will find God calling you to slow down and go a little deeper this advent.
Maybe you will accept the invitation to celebrate advent this year.“

I highly recommend Mary’s book. You can find it on Amazon here https://amzn.to/3xwH6Gh

Friends Heaven is so much better than any Hallmark town or Beach paradise you think you are missing.
Let your confidence be in the Truth of knowing that as a child of God your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and Heaven will be your eternal home one day.
In that perfect place there will be no sadness, no pain, no sickness, and no evil.
It will be more beautiful than any place we could ever imagine.
We will be reunited with loved ones.
But the most glorious of all, we will see Jesus, the one who died so that we may live.
Heaven is worth the wait!
Don‘t miss it!
God bless you. Michele Bowman
