Healthy and Fit Update

Getting older means a lot of changes to our bodies. But it also means our way of thinking changes. I can remember when I was younger and all I wanted was to be "skinny".

I have struggled with body image since I was about eight years old. Now that I am almost 57 years old, I have no desire to be skinny. I want to be healthy and fit. But what does that look like in my mind? It may be different to you. That is okay friend. My way of thinking has changed in a good way.

My desire to change my body composition is to be strong and have more energy. I no longer care about getting to a single digit clothing size in order to be "accepted" by society. I will say there has been a shift in the way people see others. Several companies now use women of all sizes and ages.

There is still work to be done towards why we should be healthy and fit. It should not be so we can look good in a bikini this summer. Society has made us think this way. It's usually someone selling something. They create the problem and conveniently provide a solution.

My prayer for you is that you will change your way of thinking about your body image and realize no matter what size or shape your body is, fearfully and wonderfully made.
