Living with Courage

Did you know there is a difference between confidence and courage? I did not realize this until recently.

Having confidence is trusting you are equipped to do or be what you need to be.

Courage is doing something even though you know or perceive danger is involved. Believe it or not I used to be terrified of the thought of speaking in front of people. I am truly thankful for a Pastor that pushed me out of my comfort zone.

A really great example of living with courage is when The Lord told Joshua to be strong and courageous after Moses had died and Joshua became the leader of the Israelites.

He tells him three times in the first nine verses of the book of Joshua to be strong and courageous.

My favorite part is verse nine. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or dismayed for The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

This is what we as believers in Christ have to remember. Wherever God leads us, He is with us. We can do things and go places that God leads even if we are scared and nervous knowing we are not alone.

Here are several Bible verses to remind you that living with courage is possible.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

‬ 2nd Corinthians 2:14 ‭ “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

Living with courage is possible when we trust God is with us and we get our confidence from who we are in Christ. I want to challenge you to start living with courage and do what you know God is calling you to do.
